Spaghetti Aglio E Olio

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is one of my favorite kinds of pastas. I love the spiciness and the fact that how flavorful it can be with only a few little ingredients.

I used to eat this a lot at restaurants when we were in Jakarta, this is the first time, I tried it at home and I was just reminiscing about it, as it has the same beautiful flavor.

Let’s get to how we can make it. It doesn’t call for too many ingredients but well it’s the flavors that matters.

Things you need:

Spaghetti 300 grams or more than half a pound

Garlic cloves 4-5

Red chili flakes 1-2 tablespoons (depends on how spicy you like it)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Olive oil 2-3 tablespoons

Parsley for garnish

To serve: sautéed shrimps/chicken/mushrooms (anything of your choice)

Boil your spaghetti as per your packet instructions.

Heat oil in a pan.

Add finally cut garlic cloves.

When the garlic starts to give aroma, add in the chili flakes. Sauté.

Add in your spaghetti. Add salt and black pepper and mix. Turn off the heat.

Garnish with parsley (fresh or fried).

In another pan, take some oil with some ginger garlic paste. Add in your deveined and cleaned prawns, along with salt and black pepper.

Cook until done.

Top your spaghetti with the shrimps or any other thing you wish.

Done!
