Homemade burgers are a great idea for kids’ lunch, and the best part is you can customize them to your or your kids’ liking. My son doesn’t like too much stuff in his burger, usually he would just go for the patty and cheese, but this last time I made, I sneaked in some caramelized onions to give some extra flavor.

Recipe for the Patty:
Ingredients:
- Minced Meat (beef): 500 grams
- finely chopped Onions: 1/2 cup
- Crushed Garlic: 1 and a half teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Taco Spice Mix: (1/4 teaspoon each of black pepper, mixed herbs, garlic powder, paprika powder, cumin powder, onion powder)
- Egg: 1/2 (optional, if your mixture seems dry, you can add 1/2 egg for 500 grams minced meat, or you could also add 1-2 tablespoon yogurt)
- Mint leaves: 4-5 leaves (optional, but it gives freshness to the meat)

What you need to do:
- Take a large bowl.
- Add in your ingredients and mix everything well.
- Make balls out of the mixture.
- Take one ball and press it down to form a patty.
- Take a non-stick pan with little oil and add 3-4 patties, don’t overcrowd your pan.
- Fry on medium to high heat for 4 minutes, as we don’t want to steam our patties.
- When one side is done, turn them over and put the heat on medium to low, cover and cook the other side for about 1/2 minute.
- Uncover the pan and let it cook for another half minute on high heat.
- Take them out on a kitchen towel.
