Pancakes

Pancakes make for a great breakfast. I usually make them over the weekends, when my kids ask me to. They love it with choice of their toppings like strawberries, maple syrup or chocolate chips. Although, you can make different varieties, here is the basic recipe for fluffy pancakes.

Recipe for Pancakes

Prep time- 10 minutes

Cooking time- 15-20 minutes

Things you need:

All purpose flour- 1 and a half (1/2) cup

Sugar- 2 to 3 tablespoons

Salt- a pinch

Baking powder- 3 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon

Egg- 1

Vanilla Essence- 1 teaspoon

Milk- 1 and a quarter (1/4) cups

Melted Butter- 3 to 4 tablespoons

What to do:

Take a big mixing bowl. Sift your dry ingredients and add to to the bowl.

Add egg along with the vanilla essence.

Take a balloon whisk and start whisking while adding your milk.

Do not over mix as you won’t get fluffy pancakes if you over mix.

In the end, add the melted butter. Mix.

Take a non-stick pan and put on low to medium heat. With the help of a ladle, take some pancake batter and pour in the pan without any oil or butter. If you add butter in the pan, you won’t get the beautiful color on the pancake.

When the bubbles start appearing on the top side, flip it.

Let the other side cook until done.

You can also make some fun pancake art with your batter.

When all the pancakes are done. Add your toppings.
